USAG Benelux is comprised of three subordinate garrisons which provide Army base operations supporting more than 17,000 Americans across the garrison’s seven-nation footprint, the largest and most diverse within the Benelux’s parent-Installation Management Command, European region. Our team relies on a large number of host nation employees both from Belgium and The Netherlands. Without that force of excellence, continuity, and diversity, our efforts to establish an American community of excellence would not succeed.

Among the U.S. Army Garrisons in Europe, the US Army Garrison Benelux is unique. We are the only Garrison working to support NATO, and we serve the widest geographic area: Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, the northern German states, France, Poland and the United Kingdom. Our three main areas of activity are in support of the NATO headquarters in Brussels (our U.S. Army Garrison Brussels); Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (Chievres/SHAPE Garrison); and Joint Force Command Brunssum (the U.S. Army Garrison Schinnen). All of these geographically dispersed activities form one team and one effort.

In addition to the military facilities available here, the USAG Benelux is an ideal location for trips and visits to nearby places of interest. Belgium, The Netherlands, and the entire European continent are rich with history and easily accessible. Within just a few hours, you can visit such great places as Paris, Venice, the Swiss Alps, Austria, Amsterdam and many others.
